This past week, 33 people were sentenced to death in North Korea for attempting to start a church.

Thirty-three.

It's hard to reconcile a world where your faith in Jesus would put your life at risk. It certainly makes me blush thinking of some of the things we (the church in America) spend our energy on.

In 2013, the number of Christian martyrs globally doubled over the previous year, with the organization Open Doors reporting the deaths of 2,123 Christians.

For the past year, my heart has been especially burdened for the underground church and those who give their lives for their faith. Will you join me in prayer for the underground church?
